| Why Are Big Businesses Going Green... And Why Do Some of Them Mean It? |
10:45am - 11:45am, Presented by: Paul H. Farrow |
What are the motivations and opportunities all businesses should consider as they contemplate becoming more sustainable? This session explores going green as a business strategy, and how the right mix of practical thinking and longer term vision can yield strong business results in a company’s profitability, social value and environmental responsibility.
The discussion will visit several well-known companies like GE, Ford and Google, plus a few lesser known like ITC to see what they are doing. Terms like “Green Imperative,” “Triple Bottom Line,” “Eco-efficiency,” and “Eco-effectiveness” will be defined and de-bunked. Expect an informal presentation, time for Q&A, and plenty of room for consenting and dissenting discussion.
